INITIATION TRIBAL FUSION BELLYDANCE WORKSHOP

This in depth introduction into temple fusion Bellydance takes you through the history and methods of this unique form based off the devotional sacred dances of India.   Fusing elements of Odissi, and Rajasthani dance into the slow and snake like movements of Fusion Bellydance ; this form allows you to improvise and form a direct connection with your sacred self.

We will begin the day with a discussion on the history of the art forms we fuse in, to give you a solid foundation and understanding of the cultural context in which we base our movements from. You will learn about Rasa, and how it underlies every movement and performance we do in this method. Through basic drills and combinations, you will learn elements of Indian dance and how it can be utilized in fusion bellydance to create a unique story that you tell though movement.

After a break for lunch, we will take all that we have learned into a flow space, and allow you to start to create your own stories through movement. Part improvisation, part follow along, this flow space will be a blank canvas for you to create upon. each student gets a certificate of completion at the end of the workshop.
